Its main purpose was for fighting, because fusions are usually bigger and stronger than normal gems, but Ruby and Sapphire fused for love. Sapphire was made by Blue Diamond for predicting outcomes for the infamous Gem W@r. Ruby was also made by Blue Diamond, along with two other Rubies, to be Sapphireโ€™s โ€œruby guardโ€.
