"Ebony Tones"
The darkest complexions on the planet seem to be from Senegal and Micronesia. Super dark complexions are found closest to the equator. The deep melanin pigments protect against the sun's UV rays. Skin color is based on environmental need. The hotter the climate, the tendency to be darker. It is evolution and adaptation. Just as all species evolve to fit their environment, humans are no different. Skin color is about survival and nothing more.

I really love creating dark complexions ... they are so stunning. A lot more exciting than pink skin with red blotches. Caucasian people aren't "white," we're pink and blotchy ... lol.
Your artwork is always amazing and this series is intriguing.
When my daughter was learning colors, daddy was dark brown, she was brown and mommy was always pink

Absolutely beautiful work! My Grandparents came over to the U.S. from Sicily. My family is not so โpink and blotchy โ as much as a light tan. Sicily, as you probably already know, is in close proximity to the African Continent so we somewhat share the same skin coloring traits. I had an Uncle, his name was Antonio. I remember Uncle Tony was always very dark in the summer months, he was a truck driver and often outdoors. He had blue eyes and white hair, the contrast was stunning!

@The Real Fish ๐บ๐ธ ๐ฎ๐น Italy is a plethora of tones. Northern Italy produces a lot of lighter hair and eyes, but southern is the darker, Mediterranean tones. My step dad and siblings all had black hair and blue eyes, I think they were from the Sicilian region. Beautiful, light tan (olive) skin.
