1 year ago@*.• strawberry girl •.* Snow?! Already?! We had like 30 seconds of flurries the other night but that was it. Buffalo (upstate NY) had 5 FEET of snow last weekend!!! We were just there the week before for Rémi’s volleyball state championship tournament. We dodged a huge bullet! Hopefully the forecast out by you isn’t predicting snow in FEET!

1 year agoNO WAY 5 FEET? That’s insane 👀 oof I bet you’re reallllly glad the volleyball tournament wasn’t a week earlier! So did she make it to state or something? Bc around here volleyball ended last month (our school team made it to playoffs but lost).
Haha nope we’ve only gotten multiple feet of snow at once twice in my lifetime. Around here, it snows 6” max, stays a couple days, and melts. It’s really common to have snow in the morning and by evening, it’ll be melted, then freeze on the roads at-

1 year ago-night, then we’ll get more snow (usually like an inch) and the process will repeat until the roads get so icy with the snow and ice school gets cancelled. Black ice is also very common around here in the winter 😬

1 year ago@*.• strawberry girl •.* Yes, Rémi’s high school team made it to states. Unfortunately they ended up losing but it was a great experience! Now her travel club volleyball season starts. First tournament is in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida! And wow ~ I never knew you typicality don’t get much snow there! Here it depends… some winters are brutal while others are quite mild! It’s really strange! Black ice is soooo scary!!! Happens a lot here as well. Not to be messed with!

Yeah, we get snow but never a lot. One year there was a lot~ we got three feet overnight in blizzard-like conditions~ visibility was limited to like a foot 😬 but it only lasted a week before it had all melted. That is strange that your winters kinda fluctuate. I don’t like when we have mild winter bc it means there’s a lot more bugs in the summer 😩 and it’s bad for the crops to not get cold

1 year ago-yes black ice is so common here that a lot of the roads have permanent ‘watch for black ice’ signs
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family as well! Haha I definitely will~ yesterday was a half day and I get the rest of the week off, and the trimester ends Monday, so on Tuesday I’ll have some new classes. The one class I don’t like continues on into the second tri though 😭
Do you have big plans for thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is usually a smaller gathering in my family than Christmas-

1 year ago-and some of the other holidays. It’s just my parents, my two siblings, and my grandparents on my moms side. Dinner should be good as always 😁 my mom looooves to cook!

Thanksgiving was quite small this year… we just got home (it’s a little after 8 PM here). We were at my brother’s~in~law. My husband’s mom & stepdad were there, and the three of us. I made five dishes yesterday in preparation! (My brother~in~law is single and although he was hosting, he was only in charge of the turkey & the green beans! 🤣)

Ah, so you’re about three hours ahead of me~ it’s 6:30 here and I’m currently watching Charlie Brown thanksgiving (it’s practically a thanksgiving tradition for my family at this point)
Five dishes is a lot! (Lol but the turkey is most important part) My grandma brought over a can of cranberry sauce and my brother spent so much time poking it with a knife that when she tried to slice it, the slices fell apart 🤣
